POSITION DETAILS:
Job Role: QA Automation Lead/Architect
Location: Detroit, MI
Duration: Long-term
Key responsibilities:
Participate in requirements definition meetings with business and design teams. Review requirement and design documentation to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable.
Participate in design walk-through and prototyping.
Estimate project size and testing effort for automation.
Identifies/Trains/Manages the team.
Create test automation design and framework.
Prepare test plan and test strategy.
Propose, deploy and execute test automation services for multiple projects
Coordinate test automation efforts across multiple organizations, groups and teams (both internal and external).
Assist with setup and installation of test environment / platforms.
Assist in defining the company’s testing methodologies and quality control standards.
Develop and maintain any of smoke, functional, and regression tests to ensure code is functioning as designed.
Responsible for setting up test data, tools, databases to support integrated test environments.
Responsible for test execution; Report and maintain software defects of defect management system.
Provide leadership and mentoring to a team of QA automation engineers
Contribute to written policies/procedures and maintain compliance with defined process / standard.
Collaboration with stakeholders in presenting test results and getting their sign-off
Capture, analyze, report QA metrics.
Organize status meetings and send status reports.
Prepares/updates the metrics dashboard at the end of a phase or at the completion of the project.
Define schedule and balance workload of tasks across given resources.
Maintain effective communication with the project teams on project limitation, capability, performance requirement and hardware interface changes.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum seven (7) years of relevant QA experience with 4+ years working.
Experience in Test Automation and 2+ years in a Lead role
Expertise in usage of tools like HP UFT, Selenium etc.
Experience in developing test harness.
Hardware based automation testing experience is preferred.
Experience with various test automation framework with implementation knowledge.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration.
Pro-active, accountable and focused; with the ability to take ownership of project requirements without constant supervision.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organization and time management skills with a strong ability to prioritize and multitask across competing demands.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficiency in Test & Defect Management tool.
Understanding of basic software development life cycle.
Experience with QA methodologies and bug prevention strategies.
Experience with managing remote test locations.
Ability to simultaneously lead multiple testing projects of different nature.
Flexible and team-oriented, with good interpersonal skills and exposure to both traditional and Agile / Scrum environment.
