Tech Must Haves/Quantifiable Capabilities: · 3-5 years of Microstrategy Development: 9x or above (they are using v9.4.1)-Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team to design, develop, test, maintain and support data analytics and reporting solutions. I would ask candidates if they are on the Data Warehouse side or Reporting side--looks like this role is more on the Data Warehouse side and they ask a lot of questions about this in the interview. It does say they will have to do some reporting as well. o Our environment and the data this individual will be working with is not straight-forward, so critical thinking skills are important. They need to be able to document how they’ve solved challenging problems in MicroStrategy. Be a quick learner, proactive and think on their feet, work in a fast paced environment. I would ask how big their team sizes were? · I would ask what difference/impact/improvement they made on their last project. For example they will put performance tuning. Very vague. He would like to know what they performance tuned and the impact it had on reporting (did they increase the speed of reporting from 1 minute to 30 seconds? What was the impact or improvement that they individually contributed to? Something quantifiable.) · Design and develop complex MicroStrategy reports and Dynamic Dashboards, utilizing advanced components such as: custom groups, consolidations, advanced metrics, Free Form SQL, extensive knowledge/experience of graphs and tuning of VLDB properties. · Desktop, Architect, Report Services – Dynamic Dashboards, Web, Intelligence Server, Narrowcast, OLAP Services and Office. · Strong SQL Skills-large data environment ** Very good communication skills, written and verbal are required- Must be able to interface with various business units to understand the requirements and prepare documentation to support development.
