Job Title : SQL BI Architect Location : Stamford, CT Duration : 6+ Months contract Rate : 62/hr on C2C (MAX) SQL Server and ETL Architecture Responsibilities Subject matter expert in SQL Server (2012 and above) development, including data-modeling and database schema design, stored procedures, functions, partitioning, security, etc. Subject matter expert in ETL development, there must be some exposure to SAP Data Services. Collaborate with the project team particularly business leads to clearly understand the business requirement. Collaborate effectively with the project solution and information architects.  The ability to understand and work within an existing technical framework is vital. Oversee the development of Microsoft SQL Server and ETL solutions by third parties ensuring that the Business Requirement is met, development complies with technical architecture design and that robust development standards are maintained. Ensure ETL code developed is optimized to meet performance requirements and maintainability. Oversee the development system tests ensuring that they have been completed to and of adequate standard. Help to document architectural principles and development standards where necessary. Undertake small technical PoC’s to demonstrate potential solution design Qualifications Required: 5+ years developing warehouse reporting solutions within the Microsoft SQL Server framework 5+ year developing ETL solutions, ideally will have exposure to SAP Data Services 3+ years Architect or Team lead on a successful warehouse reporting project Practical experience of working with an Enterprise Data Modeling tool (ideally SAP power designer) Experience working in the Reinsurance or insurance industry preferred Exposure to the SQL Server 2014, particularly the in-memory capabilities Exposure to key design features of Microsoft Analysis Services (2012 and above) including Tabular. Skilled interpreting Business Requirements, providing holistic solutions as opposed to point solutions. Excellent data analysis skills using SQL Strong communication skills both verbal and written Technically confident.
