Laurel, NJ Duration - Long Term Experience - 3-5 years Rate - $40-43 hourly Prefer - Local ( F2F after Phone )   Summary   In addition to this, as required, this person will be responsible for creating and delivering ad-hoc capacity analyses that will require a comprehensive understanding of Comcast’s IP and HFC network and a proficiency using SQL, Tableau, Excel and PowerPoint.   Duties and Responsibilities     Collect data for Capacity Planning’s database infrastructure from different environment such as SQL, Oracle, and Hadoop. Deliver accurate and complete capacity reports to Platform Engineering Services and Deployment Engineering management, Corporate/Finance and Division Capacity teams per defined schedules. Assist in Creating and delivering scheduled capacity reports and automate processes for sustained reports. Assist in creating dashboards to monitor utilization behavior and changes in product/service distribution across the Comcast network. Work closely with the Capacity Planning Analysis team to automate repeatable processes to improve data processing and reporting efficiencies.   Education   B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.   Experience   4-5 year experience in a database development and software development role. Ideal candidate will have worked 4 or more years on database development, data querying and data mining environment. Proficiency in SQL and Python is a prerequisite.  Expert in building codes based on given requirements. Proficient in building packages and automating processes. Strong knowledge in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) using SSIS and Pentaho, handling large amounts of data. Web Programming using Asp.Net, VB.Net, C#, Web Service (WCF), Javascript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, JQuery, XML and IIS. Proficient in Unix environments and Hadoop. Experience in End-to-End network performance. Proficient in Data integration, database design and administration. Proficient in Database backup/restore and data recovery. Process design and documentation is a plus. Experience with Lean methods and tools is preferred. Ideal candidate would have an understanding of cable infrastructures (i.e. CMTS, Fiber Nodes, VOD platforms etc.) and a working knowledge of IP networking infrastructures and components (routers, switches, etc.). Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, such as IP, TCP, Multicast, etc. Ability to know how to use library functions, understand computing problems, design patterns, and frameworks. Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate (verbal and written) with both team members and management. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment, while demonstrating the personal initiative needed to succeed in such an environment. Must be a detail-oriented person, and must possess solid organizational skills. Creative, self-motivated team player willing to take ownership of tasks assigned and new responsibilities as required.
